Family HQ privacy
Last updated October 21, 2026
Family HQ is a private calendar and household dashboard used by one family, the Randhawas. It isn't offered to the public. Only devices the family has paired can open it, and only the family's own Google account connects to it.
Google data it uses
- Google Calendar: it reads and changes events in the family's "Family HQ" calendar, to keep that calendar and the dashboard in step. It looks up the list of calendars only to find that one.
- Gmail (read-only, only if a parent turns it on): it reads emails that match the family's school-email search (by default, from the school board and SchoolMessenger) to find event dates, which a parent reviews before anything is added. It can't send, change or delete email.
Where it's kept
Events, lists and other family data are stored in the family's own Cloudflare account, and events in the family's Google Calendar. The connection to Google is kept there as a secret and is never shown on any screen.
Who it's shared with
No one. Family HQ has no ads or analytics, and doesn't sell, share or transfer Google data to anyone. Short notifications go to the family's own phones through Apple's and Google's push services, and texts through the family's own iMessage account.
Family HQ's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
